‘This week on the Island' is
written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key
West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather:
This
week I finished ‘Collateral Damage’ by Stuart Woods.
I had
my big 7-0 birthday Sunday, so I am feeling kind of old.
Old
Key West after the great fire of 1886.
How
about the old Anchor Inn
Or
maybe old Tank Island before it became Sunset Key. The tanks held diesel fuel for the Navy. The island was built when the Navy dredged the harbor.
Or
maybe old Blue Heaven
Or
just a Brigantine in the harbor this week. A ‘square rigger’ looks like a
pirate ship in Pirates of the Caribbean, a ‘schooner’ has triangle sails, and a ‘brigantine’ has square
sails on the main sail and a triangle sail on the rear.
Key West you have got to love it
