This Week on the Island 06/25/2023

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather:

This week we had June 21st, the longest day of the year. Here in Key West, the sun rise was at 6:39 AM and sunset at 8:19 PM for 13 hours and 40 minutes of daylight. I’m feeling Hot, Hot, Hot.

Also, on the thought of being hot.

This week we also had ‘swim around Key West’. Nearly 200 swimmers participated in this year’s swim. The 12.5-mile swim begins and ends at Higgs Beach.

This week was also Mosquito Week. Beware of the deadly Florida mosquito.

We are also into ‘waterspout season’. Waterspouts are tornados at sea and can be very deadly if you are on a boat.

I started to use this photo as my ‘Easy like Sunday morning’, but not everyone likes dogs.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday morning’.
