‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

 The Weather:

This week we had Turtle Day. This is Tortou, he is no longer with us and is missed. RIP.

If you haven’t seen the Southernmost Point, you must have seen pictures.

This week end will be The Minimal Regatta. Teams build boats and race on a course in the Key West Bight outside Schooner Wharf. Your boat kit is one 4’ x 8’ piece of plywood, a couple of 2 x 4’s and some fasteners.

Monday is Memorial Day.

Let’s not forget the animals that also gave their lives.
