This Week on the Island 07/14/2019

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Summer in the Keys. Hot and humid with a chance for a hurricane.

The book this week was:
Let’s hear it for Kelley, she picked up the flag and carried it forward.
This week was Mel Fisher Days. He and his crew found the Spanish ship The Atocha.
Lots of gold and silver and precious stones.
This isn’t the Atocha’s but it is a replica of an old Spanish ship.
On the home front, on one of our after lunch daily rides around the island, Teeki dropped in to visit Capt. Tony’s.
I leave you with a bit of a Key West sun rise. The Sahara dust in the air make for beautiful sun rises and sun sets.
Key West,
Close to Perfect, Far from Normal’
