This Week on the Island 06/27/2021

This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather: We have tropical weather here, not like Miami. We have left the dry season and are now in the wet season. It will be hot and humid for the next 6 months with a chance for a hurricane.

We still have party favors floating into the island. We call this a ‘square grouper’. Sometimes it is grass sometimes it is cocaine.

Here in Old Town in Key West you can’t teardown and build a new house, you have to rebuild. This is the house next door before they started.

This is the same house the next day. The trees are gone.

This is the same house the next day from our front porch. They are tearing out the inside.

Teeki and I took a ride down to the Truman Waterfront. This was a submarine training base in WWII. The water here is too shallow for the giant Nuclear Subs.

This is looking back toward the USCGC Ingham. All that concrete used to have military personnel lined up.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday Morning’. Got this one from Kassandra Burnette. This one isn't in the morning. It is an evening photo.
