This Week on the Island 05/26/2019

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Hot and humid with a chance of rain.
Last week we went to the new Truman Waterfront Park. We took the first road off the circle. This week we will take the second road off the circle.
Teeki is ready for the ride
The entrance to the Truman Waterfront Park.
The sign for the second road off the circle.
Again, there is another large multi-use field.
Then on to the Environmental Complex.
Then on pass our outdoor stage. Looks a little like a cheeseburger in paradise.
And on to the gates to the Fort Zack State Park.
The path thru the Australian Pines to the Atlantic and beach.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach, so this is the closest Teeki and I could get.
This is a little restaurant and bath rooms.
On to the ships channel
And the most photographed palm tree on the island.
Fort Zack surrounded by land dredged from the ships channel.
The entrance to Ft. Zack.
Over head view of Ft. Zack.
Inside view of Ft. Zack.
Ft. Zack when it was surrounded by water.
