This Week on the Island 08/29/2021

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather: Still Hot and humid with some rain and wind from Hurricane Ida.

I’m sure you remember Hurricane Andrew from a few years back. September is the height of Hurricane season and they don’t seem to be letting us down with a shortage this year.

Hurricane Ida, is the hurricane of the week as she heads toward New Orleans.

Teeki and I took another after lunch Teeki Ride.

We went by Lands End with Half Shell Raw Bar and the old Margaritaville store.

The old Margaritaville store when it was new.

Sloppy Joes, of course.

Captain Tony’s and treats.

The Bull and Whistle, with the Garden of Eden on the roof.

The Southernmost Point with the waves from Hurricane Ida keeping everybody wet.

Hemingway’s house.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday Morning’ from Higgs Beach. Pic from Cheryl Ann Jarrett.
