This Week on the Island 11/14/2021

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather:  Winter is on its way. The heat and humidity are gone. The doors and windows are open. I really like this time of year. Winter, in Key West, does not mean cold.

Veterans Day Parade. WWI ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. It was called Armistice Day. Now we call it Veterans Day.

Douglas was in the parade. He is the guy we see running with The Flag on North Roosevelt most every day.

The Little White House was built in 1890 as the Commanders Quarters for the military.

The Little White House today. President Truman spent some time in Key West and stayed here.

Off Shore Power Boat Racing was this week.

A little accident in 2019.

ZZ Top was in town last Saturday.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday morning’.
