This Week on the Island 10/24/2021

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather:  A cold front came thru and cooled it off a bit.

Higgs Beach is getting new sand and is fenced off until they complete the project.

Robert the Doll has been listed as the most haunted doll in the world.

We have not had cruise ships since the start of the Covid-19 scares. We had an emergency docking this week and one passenger was unloaded and sent to the hospital. No one else got off the ship.

Stone crab season has begun.

Teeki and I spend some time at the Truman Waterfront. We normally walk at the top right of this picture. They have built a dog park at the bottom center of this picture on the green triangle of grass, so we may be spending more time at the Truman Waterfront.

The Turtle Hospital does a great job of helping turtles in distress. Here a few are being released after they have been rehabilitated.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday morning’. Douglas carrying the American Flag as he runs.
