This Week on the Island 10/10/2021
‘This Week on
the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about
happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts
that are lies.
The Weather: Still Hot and Humid.
Teeki in the Teeki cart waiting to go for a ride.
We hit 2,222 miles on the Teeki Cart this week. That is a lot of miles for a 2-mile by 4-mile island.
Saturday at the Truman Waterfront and a beautiful day.
There is a lot of discussion about dog cages on one of the web sites I visit. This is Teeki in her ‘safe place’. We only closed the door when she will be home alone. With both of us retired, that is almost never.
This is a picture of the house next door back in June 2021. They had removed the trees out front and were going to raise the house. Old houses here in old town Key West, must be rebuilt and not torn down.
To rebuilt an old house, you must first raise it to the new proper height due to flooding. (Global Warming?) This house has now been raised October 2021.
Of course to raise the house they needed to re-enforce the bottom,
