This Week on the Island 11/07/2021

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather:  It is supposed to be warmer than usual this winter in Key West. Currently it is very pleasant with the doors and windows open.

The week started with Halloween.

The new dog park at the Truman Waterfront has opened.

We took a trip to Fort Zack. The water in the deep ships channel was green, the shallow water across the channel was blue. This produced a line between the two.

Margaritaville will open a hotel out near the airport and Smathers Beach.

Captain Tony.

Manatee safe guards on the props of boats. A good thing.

A house in Bahama Village.

The Coast Guard still battling the drug business.

Daylight savings goes away this Sunday.

The Power Boat Races are next week.

Veterans Day Nov 11. On the 11th hour of the 11 day of the 11th month WWI ended.

Be sure to salute our Flag.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday morning’.  Pic from Bo Fodor.
