written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key

Weather:
Summer arrive on Jun 21st. I noticed that it was cooler here that in the north
east of the USA.
This
week I read ‘Orchid Beach’ by Stuart Woods.
This
week started with ‘The Key West Tutu Run’. https://www.facebook.com/FantasticallyFunTutuRun/photos_stream
Finnegan’s
Wake has closed. It was a great restaurant/bar where we could get a big meal
for not such a big price. http://www.allmenus.com/fl/key-west/16006-finnegans-wake/menu/
I got
to wondering, where are we going to eat now? So here are some places that not
all the tourist know about.
How
about Cuban Coffee Queen on Lazy Way Lane. Their Cuban mix sandwich has a
bar-b-qued taste. http://www.yelp.com/biz/cuban-coffee-queen-key-west
Or
maybe Five Brothers on the corner of Grinnell and Southard. Their Cuban mix
sandwich is original Cuban. (see def below) http://5brothersgrocery.tripod.com/
Then
there is the Inca Restaurant on White Street. http://incasrestaurantkeywest.com/
Or
maybe even Sandy’s on White Street. Very popular, especially late at night. http://www.kwsandyscafe.com/
Of
course if we are very hungry and want lots of Cuban food, there is El Siboney.
I really like their Cuban roast pork with black beans and plantains. http://www.elsiboneyrestaurant.com/
My
wife really likes the Key West Cuban sandwich at The Court House Deli just across
Whitehead from the Green Parrot. On voting days she likes to get a Cuban mix and eat it at the Green Parrot with an
adult beverage. http://www.yelp.com/biz/jeannas-courthouse-grocery-and-deli-key-west
The Cuban mix
sandwich is an undeniably delicious sandwich which is grilled and made with
ham, pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard and Cuban bread. The essential
ingredient is the marinated mojo roasted pork. The Key West Cuban mix has
lettuce, tomato, and mayo.
I would like to
thank all my friends that were in town and dropped by or stopped me on the
street to say ‘hi’. It is always a pleasure to see you.
Key West you have got to love it
