This Week on the Island 08/13/2017

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Same as last week. Lots of dust from the Sahara in North Africa in the air giving us beautiful sunsets. Hot and humid until November with a chance of a hurricane.
No book this week.
Went back to the VA in Miami on Monday. Set the date of Sept 7th to replace my other (left) knee.
This week was ‘Lobster Fest’. Where else can you sit on the curb in 90-degree heat and eat lobster and drink beer?
Construction at the end of Margaret Street at the bight.
Also the entrance to the park at the Truman Waterfront is taking shape.
This week was Captain Tony’s birthday. RIP.
This house in Key Largo might belong to someone from South Carolina.
