This Week on the Island 06/25/2017

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Same as the last four weeks. Hot and humid until November with a chance of a hurricane.
This week’s book was ‘Key West Boneyard’ by Mike Pettit. Voodoo in Haiti. Stolen money, and a Key West caper.
Summer is here and the island is getting slow. Not as many tourist and some of the restaurants/bars have started laying people off until this fall. Many folks are taking vacation and going home for the summer. So, here are some pics I stole from Steve Mellette’s Facebook.
At about 6:30 PM, Teeki and I have started going to the monument just outside Jimmy Buffett’s recording studio on the bight. She can get her share of ‘Pretty Dog’ for the day while I smoke a cigar.
Here is another picture of the 7- mile bridge.
We leave you this Sunday looking at the water at Mallory Square.
