This Week on the Island 01/25/2015
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
same as last week. Some rain, lots of sunshine. Mostly in the 70’s.
This
week I finished reading ‘The Key West Reader’. The best of Key West writers
1830-1990.
Sunday started with my friend Marcus running in the Key West ½ marathon. There
were nearly 4,000 runners in that race and a couple thousand in the second race
which was the Key West 5K race.
We also
went to the Seafood Festival. The power went out and Howard Livingston and the
MM24 Band played anyway. Marcus on the left, me in the straw hat, and Jo on the
right.
This
week was also the Quantum Key West Yacht races. The yachts are so far off shore
that I had to get pictures from Facebook. The first two thanks to Rob O'Neal and the last thanks to Timeline Photo's.
And we had George Strait recording at Shrimp Boat Sounds, the Jimmy Buffett recording studio on Lazy Way Lane.
We leave
you this week at the shower at Blue Heaven
Key West
you have got to love it
