This Week on the Island 12/14/2014

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather: Cold most of the week. In the high 50's in the morning and only getting into the low 60's most days. The wind off the ocean was cold.
This week I started reading ‘1421 The Year China Discovered America’ by Gavin Menzies.
Last Saturday was the Key West Holiday (Christmas) Parade. This was Koda's first and the motorcycle cops and fire trucks were bad enough but the bubbles made her want to run for home. Boca and Koda like the little Tootsie Roll that were tossed to the spectators at the parade.
Sunday we celebrated Kodas 5th birthday at Schooner Wharf.

Monday I took Koda back to see Dr. Doug in Marathon to have her staples removed from her stomach. She had to have a squeaky toy removed. She is a happy girl now.

Tuesday was another long day at the VA in Miami. Had my teeth cleaned and one repaired where I had cracked the side off of it.

Wednesday was the ‘Lighted Bike Parade’. Jo and I rode our trikes and had a wonderful time.

Thursday, I had a friend send me a new Christmas shirt.

Friday, the bananas look like they are ready to be picked.

Saturday was the ‘Lighted Boat Parade’. It started in the Bight and went out to Mallory Square and then back into the Bight.

Key West you have got to love it
