This Week on the Island 11/23/2014
‘This
Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends
about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those
parts that are lies.
Weather:
A cold front came thru on Thursday with lots of rain and 63 degrees. It
continued to rain on Friday and Saturday.
This
week I started ‘The Canterbury Tales’ by Geoffrey Chaucer. I found them at http://english.fsu.edu/canterbury/
So I saw someone
posted on Facebook, How to Make a Lemon Pie .So I made one. 2 cans of sweet
condensed milk (1300 calories each), ¾ cup lemon juice (0 calories) and 1 gram
cracker pie crust (80 calories). That is 2,680 calories. Bad news is, it sure
is good, good news is it cleaned out my system which equaled loss weight. Think
I will have some more today.
The city has decorated the coconut
trees from Conch Republic Seafood to Lazy Way Lane at the bight. Took this
picture at 5:30 AM this morning while walking the dogs.
Jo’s rose out front is blooming.
The house next door has been
decorated for Christmas for 2 weeks now. I could be living next door to the
Griswalls. (Chevy Chase movie).
The power company removed the palm trees from the front of our house. They had grown into the power lines overhead.
We leave you this week with the moon
at the end of the 7 mile bridge.
Key West
you have got to love it
