This Week on the Island 07/07/2019

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: It has been hot.

The book this week was ’Wild Ocean’ by Tripp Ellis.
July 2 was our 48th Anniversary.
July 4, 2019
Runners and walkers wore their red, white and blue for the Fourth of July on Thursday morning for the Noon Rotary Club of Key West Firecracker 5K.
The Key Lime Pie festival was also this week.
Two new huskies at the dog part.  Daisy, 6 months, on the right and Lady, 1 ½, on the left.
On the Truman Waterfront Park a storm is coming from the left over near the beach at Fort Zack.
P843 at the outer mole.
We had 3 cruise ships in twice this week. Each ship dumps about 3,000 to 4,000 people on the streets of this small town.
We leave you with this picture of the July 4th fireworks over at the end of White Street. Pic by Rob O’Neal and from the Key West Citizen.
