This Week on the Island 03/16/2014

‘This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Another cold front came thru on Thursday and dropped the temp to the mid 60’s by Friday morning. Other than that it has been a beautiful week.
The book this week was ‘Takedown Twenty’ by Janet Evanovich.
Another road trip to Marathon and Dr. Doug, the vet. Boca was limping on his right front foot. We took a trip to Marathon Monday a week ago and we found that Boca had a growth on his right front foot. This Wednesday we went back to have it removed.
Boca does not feel very well but he has some great drugs.

Tyler and I had lots of hours to kill why we waited for Boca to have his surgery.

We spent some time at the Marathon Community Park. Tyler explored while I had a Sausage McMuffin and coffee.

Then we went to Sombrero Beach in Marathon. Tyler enjoyed the sand and the seaweed and really wanted to chase the sea birds. Key West beaches are covered in small coral rocks. This beach in Marathon had beautiful white sand.

I took this picture as we left the Vets office. They got lots of my money, but Boca is worth it. For the next week he will be on drugs.

And of course the spring Breakers are still here and St Pat’s Day is in full swing.

Key West you have got to love it
