This Week on the Island 05/24/2020

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather:  The rainy season has begun. Hot and humid for the next 6 months.
Key West has been busy fixing sidewalks, scraping up old pavement and putting down new pavement and paint. Pavement gone and old bricks showing.
New blacktop.
And Paint
The best mode of transportation in this town is a bike.
Or a custom car. (At Home Depot).
If it is made of wood it has termites. If it is plastic the sun will destroy it.
If it is metal the salt in the air will make it rust. This is the Curry mansion tented to be gassed for termites.
Monday is Memorial Day.
We leave you with this.

Key West,
Close to Perfect, Far from Normal’
