This Week onthe Island 10/13/2019

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Lots of rain most every day.
The book this week.
Key West continues to build 'The Wall'. The retaining wall at Conch Republic Seafood has been finished and it is now extending from Conch Republic to Buffetts Recording Studio
It was a rainy day in Key West. Teeki and I took a quick walk between showers. Blues Man was singing with Raven at Schooner Wharf so we had to stop for a few songs.
This house was in sad shape. First, it was almost sitting on the ground. Second, someone had added a room on the front of the house and porch. Third, there was a garage attached to the house. Last but not least was all the rot and termites. They jacked it up in July and lowered it to its new supports this week. Lots more work ahead for this old house. Oh yea, here in Key West you can't tear down an old house. You must rebuild it.
We leave you with the sunrise at the dog park Friday. Someone called these 'Jesus rays'.
This week end is the Peterson Motorcycle Poker Run. Next week end is the Zombie Ride, the Goombay Festival and the start of Fantasy Fest. The next week is Fantasy Fest and ending with the big parade on Saturday. The next week end will be the Parrot Heads. So it begins.

Close to Perfect, Far from Normal’
