This Week on the Island 06/20/2021

This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather, Reminds me of a Jimmy Buffett song, 'All the days are the same here'.

Another hurricane season has started

Flag Day was June 14th. This is the 15 stars, 15 strips ‘Star Spangled Banner’ that Francis Scott Key wrote about.

This is what happens to the manatee when it is hit by a boat prop. Notice also there are old healed scars on its back.

This could help a lot.

Father’s Day is Sunday, take your daughter dancing to ‘Schooner Wharf Bar Dog’.

We  post a lot of pictures of our after lunch rides. Here is our early morning walk to the dog park.

Navy property built by Henry Flagler as a train depot. Name after the engineer that built it ‘Trumbo’.

The Ferry terminal

A new dock built by the city next to the ferry terminal and the boat to the Dry Tortugas. (Dry = no fresh water, Tortuga = turtle nesting).

The Dog Park

Actually, it is dark when we walk early in the morning. So I took these pics on the way home and posted them backwards.

We leave you with ‘Easy like Sunday Morning’. Got this one from Vance Pacey.
