‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather: Beautiful.

The Spring Break seems to be over. They are still here, but not in the numbers they were.

April 1, 1886 Key West burned. The only fire truck in town was in New York for repairs.

First Annual Fools Parade. There were only about 12 of us, but I remember how some of the other parades didn’t have many people when they first started. The Locals Parade, The Zombie Bike Ride, etc.
