This Week on the Island 11/04/2018

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Rain and cooler weather.
Our banana tree.

Teeki and I took another ride down to the Truman Waterfront and new park. We rode until we couldn’t go any further. Looking back at the old Navy dock.

This is the bit of water that separates the Truman Waterfront from the Margaritaville Hotel. It is called Captains cut. Many of us have wanted a bridge across this  water for some time. Maybe someday.

A cruise ship at pier ‘B’.

Another at the Outer Mole.

The enclosed water between the Outer Mole and old Navy Dock was called the ‘Sub Pen’ in WWII.

The Parrot Heads were intown for their annual Flocking. Saw many old friends.

The Parrot Heads blocked Duval Street at Margaritaville for a street party.

The power boats are already arriving for next weeks ‘Off Shore Power Boat Racing’. Some are on display down at the Truman Waterfront Park.
