This Week on the Island 11/30/2008
'This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The picture this week (click to enlarge) is the ‘ Sun bathing’. I am not sure if it was a man or a topless woman. Can you tell?

The Weather. Perfect. Mid 70’s during the day and mid 60’s at night. We are in our dry season so of course that means no rain. Blue skies and white fluffy clouds.
No book this week.
Hope you had a HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We had a few people over and everyone brought something to eat. It was a good time with good friends, good eats and good weather.
People started arriving on Friday for the four day weekend. The island was packed.
Friday, I sat on the front porch (78 degrees) and watched the tourist coming from the Ferry Terminal as they walk toward Duval Street. I am fascinated by how people walk in the streets here. I’m sure they don’t do that back home. We just had a guy get killed by a side view mirror last week. I also enjoy fashion. leather jackets, boots and sweaters with painted on jeans, seem to be a little out of place here in Key West.
This weekend we celebrated Boca’s, the husky, 4th birthday at Schooner Wharf with a dog cake and a people cake. He had a good time visiting with all his friends. The temperature was near 80.
