‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

The Weather:

Last month we had the longest day of the year. So, I kept a chart of Sunrise-Sunset here in Key West according to the posting in the local newspaper. Seems like there were 3 longest days here in Key West.

Mangos are ripe and people are giving them away. This is the Mango Fest at Bayview Park. 

Lots of people have visited Fort Zack here in Key West. Others have been out to Fort Jeff in the Dry Tortugas. Some have even visited Fort East Martello out near the KW Airport. Robert the Doll is there.

Speaking of visiting things. Have you ever seen the ‘Woman of Many Parts’ on the corner across from Five Brothers. Five Brothers, good Cuban Mix sandwich.

At the Truman Waterfront. The HMS Dauntless.

Then there are my feet with my Birkenstock Sandals and without Sandals. Good tan.

June 28^th was Parrothead Day.

The Keys Deer are having babies, please slowdown.

Teeki likes to lay in the sun, no matter how hot it gets. Then she comes in and wants an ice cookie (ice cube from the fridge).
