This Week on the Island 06/28/2020

‘This Week on the Island’ is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
The Weather: Hot.
Last week we talked about the Saharan Dust coming our way.
Coronavirus has exploded here in Florida with 8,492 new cases on Friday.
Teeki is really worried about me so she got me a mask for Father’s Day.
Willy-T opened and then closed due to Coronavirus. Captain Tony’s is also closed, and Sloppy Joes has been closed since St. Patrick’s Day.
Friday at 1:30PM the city of Key West closed all bars that get over 50% of their income from alcohol. Restaurants that get over 50% of their income from food can still serve drinks as long as the customer remains seated.
We are also dealing with a Dengue Fever outbreak.
The city also has cancelled the July 4th fireworks.
We leave you this week with this.

Key West,
Close to Perfect, Far from Normal’
