This Week on the Island 01/05/2014

‘This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.

Weather: Some rain, lots of sun then a cold front for the weekend. Down to 65 Friday night.

This week I started ‘Treasure Key’ by Wayne Gales. This book was a gift from my wife.
--------------Year End Celebrations -------------
Sushi (the female impersonation) in a big red shoe on Duval.

The Pirate Wench lowered from the ships mast at Schooner.

The conch shell lowered from the top of Sloppy Joes

The lime lowered into the Margarita at Sunset Pier.

What did you do for New Years?  (Just another trip around the sun)
Let’s not forget the Dachshund Parade on the last day of the year. (no pic)
--------------------Hell Week-------------------
Hell Week is what we call the week between Christmas and the New Year. There are people everywhere. Because Christmas and New Years were both in the middle of the week, we had two weeks of Hell week this year. Plus we had 3 large cruise ships in harbor last Monday. The island is packed.
Let's end with the first sunrise of the year.

Key West you have got to love it
