This Week on the Island 10/21/2012

This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.
Weather: Beautiful blue skies and white clouds. Warm weather with a little rain. All in all a wonderful week.

No book this week.

This week was Goombay, the celebration of our African Heritage. It was held on Petronia Street in Bahama Village.

People and booths at Goombay Friday. Lots more people after the sun went down.

The building at Schooner Wharf is being rebuilt.

Boca (my Siberian Husky) and I were at Mallory Square Wednesday night watching the sunset. The humidity had my t-shirt sticking to me. There was a light breeze. The ocean was lapping against the seawall. The sunset was beautiful. I was thinking, it doesn't get any better than this.
