This Week on the Island 03/06/2011

'This week on the Island' is written by Doug Bennett and is an update to friends about happenings in Key West last week. Everything is true except for those parts that are lies.----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The pictures this week (click to enlarge) are ‘Me and Marilyn Monroe’. She stands just off Duval Street at the Theater. “Manatee’ they were playing near the Schooner Wharf Dock. And “Howard Livingston and the MM24 Band at the 1st Conch fest. Over 2million people signed in on line to watch Howard.

Weather: We had a cool front come in on Tuesday morning and dropped the temp into the low 70’s. Beautiful week.

This week I read ‘Night Vision’ by Randy Wayne White. I love his books.

I finished my taxes using Tax-Cut Online (H&R Block). When I went to look at the forms I found you could not see the forms until you submitted the taxes for E-File. I decided to download Tax-Cut to my PC but found that you cannot transfer data from Tax-cut Online to Tax-Cut on your PC. So I am now deciding if I want to trust Tax-Cut Online or re-key everything into Tax-Cut on my PC. More next week. I have put everything on hold for now.

We have had lots of readers of ‘This Week on the Island’ in town this week. I appreciate it when the blog readers stop me to tell me about the blog.

There was an ‘Art Fest’ on Lazy Lane Saturday. We had lots of friends in town and we were all at Schooner enjoying ourselves as we watched the people walk pass on Lazy Lane. Life is good.

Saturday: Conch Fest at Bayview Park with Howard Livingston and the Mile Marker 24 Band playing at 9:00 PM. We had a great time.

Spring Break has started and will last until Easter Sunday.
